Span was 3 for 5, with 4 RBI, which included a bases-loaded clearing
triple, a single, and a bunt single, plus a stolen base. He also
robbed a 2 run HR off the bat of Adrian Beltre, leaping high against
the wall in right center to snare the ball.
“Boy, he’s been some kind of player for us.… I wish I was his agent
right now,”
He’s been promoted to Minnesota twice this season only because Michael
Cuddyer got hurt, most recently a finger injury for which the
outfielder may return next week.
When he does, Span isn’t going anywhere.
“He’ll bat No. 1, and he’ll play every day. I can tell you that,”
Gardenhire said.
When asked what he’s brought to a Twins team that reclaimed first
place for the first time in three months with Span starring,
Gardenhire gushed like a garden hose.
“Calming. Super defense. Understands the game more. Has grown up a
lot,” the manager said. “I can’t really think of too many things he
hasn’t done well since he’s been back.” >> Stay informed about: Gardenhire Heaps Praise On Span |

Uggh. Yeah, you're right about the regret part. >> Stay informed about: Gardenhire Heaps Praise On Span |

I regret to say I got brink's joke. I won't state it, but if you
do a Google search on "cleaning product" and Denard's last name,
it will come to you, and then you will regret it too.

I hope that they put Cuddyer in RF, Span in CF, Delmon/Kubel in LF.
Carlos Gomez will be a bench player, a pinch runner and/or late inning
defensive replacement. I'd guess they'd put Gomez in CF in the late
innings and move Span over to LF. >> Stay informed about: Gardenhire Heaps Praise On Span |

A "cleaner" duo nickname could be:
BuntMan and RobEm. >> Stay informed about: Gardenhire Heaps Praise On Span |

Maybe I'm a lousy googler, but I still don't get it. As to Cuddyer
coming back, I think they should platoon Cuddyer and Kubel, and bench
Young, or send him to Rochester for Jason Pridie, who can play some
defense. >> Stay informed about: Gardenhire Heaps Praise On Span |
