According to this morning's OC Register, last night's game as well as
two next week are/were farmed out to local cable companies. Cox was
showing it on an alternate station, but Time Warner Cable, which is my
"beloved" company, wasn't. Well, I'll leave the report to Michael
Lev.
Don't panic, Dodgers fans. Only two more games are scheduled to be
shifted as Wednesday night's was, and they won't be as difficult to
find as, say, the L.A. offense last season.
Fox Sports Net 2 had to farm out Wednesday night's game vs. San Diego
to cable and satellite operators because of scheduling conflicts. Fox
Sports Net broadcast the Angels, and FSN2 had the Clippers.
It will happen again Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, when the
Dodgers visit the Padres, but no further displacement is in the works.
"Unfortunately, people have to search for it," Fox Sports Net
spokesman Dennis Johnson said. "Hopefully, Dodgers fans will see it
and find it."
FSN offered the three games to every cable system in Southern
California. Several were able to find an available channel in time to
broadcast Wednesday night's game, including Adelphia and Cox, which
serve much of Orange County. Satellite companies DirecTV and Dish
Network also showed the game.
Fox Sports Net is producing 144 of 162 Dodgers games, with 91
appearing on FSN2, 50 on KCOP/13 and the three aforementioned wild
cards.
