Game 5: Throwaway Game - I feel most games Joe Kennedy starts will fall into this category. But between Milton Bradley's scratch and Bobby Crosby's back flaring up again, well ... this was a game the A's certainly weren't going to win. I felt the first four games..

That was no game... - That was no baseball game I watched today. That was a complete joke played on the A's. If it was just one incident, well, that would be accepted. But how many times did the A's give the game away? & the umpires helped too. The goat of the gam

Well, hey -- Seattle doesn't really own the A's, now, do they?

Like Game 23 against the Twins, the A's jumped out early and never
gave up the lead. Of course, there were some tense moments, but the
bullpen provided 3.2 innings of scoreless relief -- always a good
sign.

But Embree, Brown and Street combined to throw 25 strikes in 49
pitches. Not good. That will need to improve.

Offensively, the A's had THREE hits. You're not going to win a lot of
games with three hits, even if you do draw seven walks. Three hits is
a recipe for losing. This team, as usual, needs a better batting
coach.

But hey, it's a win, right? And it's a division win over a team which
had beaten the A's six straight times.

I'll take it, for it's a game the A's probably shouldn't have won.

A's Record: 15-9
A's Should-Be Record: 16-8
