That's the Sox offense, and for this year (and last year as well).
They are just unable to regularly produce runs. It's too bad to
because the Sox pitching has been so good. The staff deserves much
better.
Tomorrow the Rockies have Aaron Cook going, who has a 3.21 ERA.
Considering how they were shut-down tonight by a pitcher with an ERA
over 6, it doesn't look too promising for the Sox.
Oh, and can the Sox keep runners from stealing at will? >> Stay informed about: Feast or famine... |

Regardless of what they do, the CUBS are the BEST TEAM IN BASEBALL.
How can you cling to your "1960's Hippy Rebellion against all things
right and proper"?!?!? The Cubs are the REAL team in Chicago. Why must
you continue to support this "poor-little-bastard-child" of Chicago
Sports?
Walk into the light. Your Democrat dictators have been lying to you.
Please see the light and come over to the side of good and
righteousnes. Put that bad-mouthed Hispanic coach-wannabe behind you.
Join the REST of this great city and support the REAL TEAM!
We WILL frgive your sins. We know that the South Side has some basic
carnal allures. WE forgive you. Just trade that disgraceful black-and
white for the GREATER Red-White-and Blue. You will be treated like
long lost Prodigal Sons. >> Stay informed about: Feast or famine... |

It is a shame that some brilliant performances by our pitching staff have
been negated by our offense.
De La Torres may just have the White Sox' number. Last year with the Royals
he shut us down in an 11-1 KC victory. Every pitcher seems to have one team
that he masters (and one team that he is miserable against), so let's hope
that we can get to Cook early today to make up for it.
Regarding the stolen bases at will, let's hope the rest of the AL didn't see
last night's game. Taveras (sp?) owned us last night. On a related note,
it would be nice if Colorado would let Podsednik play today in some capacity
so the fans can give him a little appreciation for his 3 years here; there's
still a blue chair in right center field with his name on it for his World
Series heroics. >> Stay informed about: Feast or famine... |

I saw this quote in the Cubune:
"The Sox could have used the bat of their fourth-leading RBI man after
leaving 11 runners stranded against four pitchers from the National
League's worst staff. They hit .215 against the Rockies."
The Sox hitting, aside from their consecutive games winning streak,
has been horrible. If the Sox are not leading baseball in LOB then
I'd be surprised.
Now Konerko is going to be hitting the DL, most likely. I understand
that Jerry Owens has been hitting better lately (he's hit .310 in his
last 3 games so, not anything to get that excited about).
If, as it seems, Konerko has to go on the DL that will mean a Sox line-
up without Thome or Konerko. Thome has played 3 games at first in '06
and only 1 last year. So, I don't think they'll put him at first. No
Thome or Konerko at Wrigley this weekend? Maybe that's not a bad
thing the way they've been hitting. >> Stay informed about: Feast or famine... |

Maybe Jerry Owens could give the Sox something they lack--speed. I
know he has to get on base but this
team is too one dimensional offensively. They need speed to spark the
offense to win these close games.
You just can't lay back and wait for the home run which the Sox are
too dependent on. >> Stay informed about: Feast or famine... |

That should have read "De La Rosa", my fault. De La Torres is a nice

I agree. If Konerko goes on the DL, call up Owens. >> Stay informed about: Feast or famine... |
