Its interesting in light of the game blowing up when Farnsworth came
intothe game. On John WIlliams show on WGN before the game, Johns
producer told how he went to a local hot spot, Senor Frogs, after
Tuesday nights game. He stayed there until closing (which was around
3:30 AM) and walking out of the place with him was none other than our
man Kyle.

Thinking that its ok, hes young and the next days game was at night,
so Kyle would have time to sleep, he thought nothing of it.

Later Wednesday, John Williams decided to the beach and rented a wave
runner. This was late morning/early afternoon. THe person getting
off the wave runner that John Williams was about to use? WHy it was
our man Kyle again. Not only staying up late to party, but getting up
early (or maybe he didn't go to sleep yet) to play in the water.

You would think that Dusty giving the players Monday off to frolic
would be enough with this team in a pennent race, but I guess the lure
of fun is just too much for Farnsworth. After hearing this story, I
was really hoping that he would not be called on to pitch in
Wednesdays game, but he was and 1 inning and 4 runs later, the game
was lost

Can anyone confirm or deny that the aforementioned accounts were
actually broadcast on WGN radio?

Perhaps you don't know Farnsworth's history but this is common practice for
him. Last year before the Cub/Sox game on a Friday afternoon at Comisky,
Farnsworth spent the night at a party and was still there after 9 A.M. My
coworker was at the party a stripper friend of his threw and left the party and
went out to the bars. He returned around 4 A.M. and saw Farnsworth. When my
buddy was about to leave a little after 9 A.M., he noticed Farnworth was still
there and said to him. "Don't you have a game today?" Farnsworth said he
would be leaving soon. He obviously must have went straight to the park
because it was a 1 O'clock game.

He ended up giving up a homer to Konerko in that game. When I tried to call
the Score and mention it, the female intern mentioned she works at a bar and he
is out all of the time at them.

Perhaps that explains his inability to utilize his natural abilities. He's
never getting any sleep.

Pat and Dave Otto mentioned that there had been a report Farnsworth had been
seen out quite late but dismissed it as a storm in a teacup. If the defense
had done it's job it, IMHO, would have been no story at all.
There is no cause to scapegoat him.

I'm not putting any blame on Farnsworth for the Cubs' loss on Wednesday.
What I want to know is whether or not the stuff that the one poster
reported was broadcast on the John Williams radio show was actually
broadcast or not.

If the producer of John Williams' show and John Williams actually
broadcast those statements about Kyle Farnsworth, does repeating it here
make it rumormongering? What should a person considered to a verifiable
source? Wasn't it last year that Claude reported that a friend of his
had witnessed Kyle behaving in a certain manner? If Claude had seen it
himself and reported it here, would he have been considered a verifiable
source or would his honesty or accuracy questioned?

Uh--oh. Now you're going to get Bubba after me again. And he'll accuse
Matt and me of hanging out in bars and pounding the Bud and repeating
hearsay and besmirching the reputation of a fine young man. Here he comes.
Thanks a lot, Frank.

My apologies. I probably could have come up with something else to add
detail to my questions. If nobody posts anything about whether the
Farnsworth stories were actually broadcast, I will forward a copy of the
original post to John Williams and his producer so that they can tell me
what happened. I'll ask them if I can share their responses with the
newsgroup and I will post those responses here if I can.

I have forwarded the original posting to both John Williams and his
producer Matt. I asked them to confirm or deny the information in the
message and I asked their permission to share their response with the group.

It could be a few days before I get a response, if any at all, as I
don't know John and Matt's email load, how often they access it or how
often they reply to questions from emailers.
