How can America become a fallen empire when it is not an empire? Don't tell
me invading and occupying Iraq and Afghanistan is establishing an empire.
Perhaps it increases the U.S. security (I am not stating that it does), but
it has brought no wealth to the U.S., only debt and refugees. Neither have
other foreign adventures in Haiti, Serbia, Israel, etc. profited the U.S.
Acquiring wealth is the motive for building an empire!
If the U.S. wants to become an empire, start locally:
Pull the troops out of Afghanistan and Iraq, and insert them in Venezuela
and Mexico, and sent the oil back home.
Have a little discussion with the P.M. of Canada about the benefits to both
countries of allowing U.S. oil companies to exploit Canadian energy
resources. America gets the energy it needs and Canada does not get bombed.
Other countries in the western hemisphere that had useful raw materials or
energy would receive similar treatment.
Make a deal with China (and maybe Russia) to split Africa's vast mineral and
energy wealth.
