A few names around the league experiencing power failure.

Got me to thinking. I am in no way proposing trading Dunn, but just
for discussion purposes, assume that we are not re-signing him and
assume the other club is on his approved trade list, would you make
any of these deals, and what do you think it would take to do it?

Victor Martinez: Cleveland is 7 games back

We need a catcher, they need a DH. Martinez isn't an outstanding
defensive catcher, but he's really good offensively, this season
aside. And he's signed reasonably thru 2009 at around $7M.

Speculation is that he's got a hamstring problem. (NOTE: I also saw
he left last night for some kind of elbow problem).

Cleveland thought they would contend this year (as did I), but along
with Martinez, Hafner has been miserable, and I believe has a shoulder
injury thats been going on for nearly a year. They still have a shot
if the offense perks up.

If Martinez hitting issues are physical and fixable, would you trade
Dunn for Martinez? Would Cleveland?

Alex Rios: Toronto is 7 games back

We need a RHed OFer, and they need a LHed OFer. Other than Brad
Wilkerson, all of their OFers are RH, and Kevin Mench looks to be
starter. Even Dunn is a better fielder than Mench, isn't he?

Rios signed a 7/$64M deal this year.

Toronto needs power. Team leader in HR is Wells and Matt Stairs with
7. And there have been rumors that they are shopping Burnett because
of cost concerns.

They've spent a boatload of money on Rios and Wells in the outfield.
Would you trade Dunn for Rios and accept the long term contract for
the 25 year old if they have buyer's remorse and want to dump some
salary long term? If they wouldn't do Rios, what about Wells
instead?

+++

Matt Kemp: Dodgers are 3.5 back

LA needs slugger and can absorb the salary. We need RHed OFer.

Kemp isn't on this list and is performing well, but I saw this
speculation on Fox a couple of days ago.

Would you trade Dunn for Kemp? Would they?

Any other deals strike your fancy?
