Well, until the past few weeks, he was having a horrible season, with no
resemblance to the 2nd half of last year. Had he kept that up, we'd be
wondering if he'd lost it. Now that he hasn't, signing seems like a decent
idea.

It looks like Gil is done. I can't find him on anybody's roster.
Drew Anderson and Chris Dickeron are still on the 40 man roster for some
reason. If you can fit Cory Patterson on your 25 man roster, why not give
that at bats to Dickerson?

Szymanski, Stubbs and Dorn all still have some prospect sheen on them.

Todd Frazier, Chris Valakia and Edwin could all end up in the outfield.

Bruce a free agnet outfielder and somebody like Cory Patterson....
or Bruce, Dunn and somebody like Cory Patterson. I'm not sure which the fans
would rather see.

I'm not sure why Adam Dunn would want to sign a long term deal with this
franchise. He's outlasted several managers and several gm's and nothing has
changed.

Slumps are nothing new for Dunn, or for any player. He has a nearly 8
season track record and is only 28.

When you add to that the absence of anything decent for a reasonable
price in free agency, it seems as much a no brainer now as ever that
they need to try and re-sign him.
