On ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball last night commentator Jon Miller said
that former Yankee first baseman, now batting coach for the
Yankees, is open for a managerial position.

Not that John Gibbons is responsible for the Jays awful '07 season but the
team definitely
needs a change. Injuries have been a big factor, and also J.P. Ricciardi's
poor dealing,
weak farm system, poor scouting and coaching but team morale has
deteriorated.

Unlike Ricciardi, and his FAN radio cheerleader, Mike Wilmer, I don't share
their optimism
that no changes are needed and that this team will be a contender next
year.Something is definitely
lacking with this current team.

A new manager such as Don Mattingly, who has been a winner in the past, is
now a batting coach of
a team with arguably the best offence in MLB, could be a needed stimulus for
the Jays.

But I want Mattingly to be the new YANKEE manager.

Gibbons reminds me a of a drunken softball coach
