Here's an unusual question.......I've noticed during the playoffs
(this year and in years past) that the reserved section directly
behind home plate appears to become an expanded press box. I'm sure
this is a season ticket holder section (probably LONG time season
ticket holders) Where do they go? I'm guessing that when they pay
for their tickets it's stipulated to them that in the event of a
playoff series they will receive best available seats in another
area. Anyone know for sure?

If it's anything like Angel Stadium, when the ST holders are offered
their post-season packages, they are offered first crack at the next
lower price tier and, essentially, the seat offers trickle down.
Angel Stadium, I had fourth row, left field bleachers. Excellent
seats, actually. So good, they gave the seats to the media and, for
twice the price, offered us seats in the upper right corner with the
foul pole in the way. Didn't understand why we didn't genuflect.

You're kidding. They did that to ST holders? What $&*$ers. I had thought
Angel ownership was quite cool to the fans by making sure every fan could
afford to by a hat for his kid etc.

I would have thought that they would have offered the displaced season
ticket holders first crack at season ticket holders that did not opt
for the playoff tickets (though I admit there probably wouldn't be
enough of those to accomodate all of those who wanted them). At
Dodger Stadium the displaced season tickets are right behind home
plate so I assume they have been season ticket holders for a VERY long
time. I'm guessing they must be told going in what's going to happen
in the event of playoffs. Maybe they are offered standing room
tickets? A free Dodger cap? A lukewarm Dodger dog?

They didn't even blink. In fact, they told us that we could renew and
get a preview of our next year's seats (meaning that the same season
package would have put us next to Tenzing Norgay). No, really, you'll
be guaranteed the smallest price increase in the park for renewals.

It took a little over a season for the beer prices to go back to
original form. As for the palm-pressing Moreno, I don't think he's
left his box for anything beyond photo ops. He and the franchise have
become everything the most pessimistic Dodger NGer expected the
McCourts to be when they came on board.

In other news, it looks like the former Dodgers are beating the
current Dodgers' former team 5-0 in the 7th.

If you're talking about the dug-out section behind the plate (can you
tell I skipped lunch?) yeah, I think they'd get something nice.
Though, admittedly, when I read your post, I saw "lukewarm Dodger
cap." Pictured a post-game Derek Lowe, Johnny Broxton, or Gagne sweat-
soaked cap.

I'm talking about the entire reserved section just above Vin Scully
that probably seats 500. If you look during the television telecasts
you'll see that they have makeshift "tables" with some kind of boards
I imagine so the writers can do their jobs. But what happens to all
those displaced ticket holders???

Oh, they're pushed farther down the base lines. Just fewer individual
game tickets available.
