Because, any serious conversation about baseball you try to have, with a
Yanks' fan, invariably winds up with 26 championships. I had one of
those yesterday. He asked me what I thought about the rumble. I told him
that Martinez and Ramirez were punks and that Zimmer was an old fool for
going after Pedro. I also asked him why Zimmer and not Giambi, for
instance, went after Pedro. He chose not to hear what I said about the
Bosox players and immediately got into the "Mets suck" and 26
championship thingy. This is an intelligent guy, too.
