"Jays GM J.P Ricciardi said (Thursday) night he will soon ask the superstar
first baseman to waive his no-trade clause, which would enable the franchise
to deal him by (the) July 31 trade deadline.
"However, his agent, David Sloane, said the slugger wants to remain in
Toronto.
"'Carlos isn't going anywhere, he isn't going to waive his no-trade
clause,'" Sloane said in a telephone interview from Miami.
