But, I'm sure the White Sox got 10,000 wins long ago. What is the
number now?

Wait! I was wrong. The White Sox are only at 8383. Hang in their
children...you will make it someday.

Here are two straightforward questions for you. Let's see if you can
answer them in a direct, correct manner:

1. How many games have the Cubbies played since their last World
Championship?

2. How many years has it been since the Cubbies won their last World
Championship?

Oh, just to help you along, World Championships are when your team
wins a World Series. Division titles are not World Championships nor
are league pennants. Just to set this straight for you, as you've
confused World Championships with division titles and pennants
previously.

Most of the differential is due to the fact that the Cubs began
playing in 1875, a quarter century before the White Sox.

The Cubs last won a World Series in 1908. If you want to know the
number of games that they have played SINCE then, you will have to
count them yourself....I'm not your Bitch.

1908 - 2008 is....duhhhhh...100 years. Do they even teach Math in
those South Side schools?

Wrong again, brett-favre-semen-breath, the Cubs won 5 World
Championships before there was anything called a "World Series" in
existence. It is a glaring symptom of your crack-induced ignorance:
You honestly believe that baseball never existed before the White Sox
were created!

Thats true. The Cubs have ben around for as long as Professional
Baseball has existed. Some members of that first team were veterans
from the Civil War. That is why the Chicago Cubs transcend their
status as a mere Baseball team, the are a Great American
Institution....fully qualified to proudly wear the glorious Red/White/
and Blue as their colors.

Care to quote some references for that?

Why is it that Cubs.com only lists two World Series Championships.

Why is that Baseball Reference.com says about the lowly Cubbies, "2
World Championships."

But I'm sure you know more than those references.

My final words for you...

Happy 100 years of futility, racist, homophobe Cubbie troll!

Among the original franchises, from the VERY BEGINNING of professional
baseball, only two remain: The Chicago Cubs and the Atlanta Braves.
Only the Chicago Cubs have played continuously in the same city (the
Braves were originally from Boston). Indeed, the Chicago Cubs have
played in it's current city longer than ANY OTHER PROFESSIONAL SPORTS
FRANCHISE.

In addition, I have uncovered new information. Prior to 1903 (first
World Series) the NL and AL leaders would get together to play,
basically, an exhibition game. The NL won everyone of these games.
Therefore, the 6 Championships that I have claimed above are TRUE
WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS in every sense of the term. That gives the Chicago
Cubs a total of 8 World Championships.

In anticipation of FudgePackerDaddy screaming for sources (his limited
education makes it difficult for him to perform his own searches),
here is a source for this information: http://en.wickipedia.org/wiki/National_League

Almost, but not quite.

IIRC, the Cincinnati Reds are the oldest professional baseball club.

This sounds very believable, so I believe you. MY sources failed to
mention this...what source did you use?

The current Cincinnati franchise traces back to 1882, in the American
Association, and joined the National League in 1890. There was a
Cincinnati Reds team in the National League's first season in 1876,
but that franchise dropped out after the 1880 season.

>Among the original franchises, from the VERY BEGINNING of professional

While both of these franchises were in the National Association in
1871 (the first professional league), the Chicago franchise did not
play in 1872 and 1873, returning only in 1874. So the Atlanta Braves
have the record for the longest continuous franchise. The Cubs do
have the record for the longest continuous franchise in the same city.

I found a rewference to this, confirming what you say:
http://www.buy-baseball-tickets.com/cubs/history.php

It provides yet another fascinating piece of history. In 1871, the
Great Chicago Fire destroyed the Ballpark, uniforms, records, etc.
Though the team was able to complete the 1871 season, they had to miss
the next two years to recover and rebuild.

Never has a Sports Team been so firmly knitted to the history of a
great city. The Cubs have suffered everything that Chicago has
suffered. You wonder why the fans are so proud!

You got me again. You have caught me in another minor spelling error.
Rather than saying AL, I meant to say AA. If you don't know what the
AA is, you will have to do your own research (it'll be good for you).

ps. You're seriously LOSING the argument (and I mean the BIG argument)

Was it a series, rather than a single game? I didn't know that. My
sources do show that, of the four NL wins (that you claim) the Cubs
won 3 of them. Those were the years 1880, 1881 and 1882. I, also,
claim Championships for the years 1876, 1885 and 1886. That is 6 World
Championships (that you would much rather ignore). Add in the World
Series victories of 1907 and 1908 (back-to-back Series wins, by the
way) and you get a total of 8 World Championships.

Care to dispute that?
