My jaw dropped when I heard Lou Pinella brought in Kerry Wood to close the
game. OK, so I figure if Wood screws up by getting 2 guys on base, I figure
Lou would pull him. NO he didn't!!! I am actually surprised he even let
him finish the game.

I recall Kerry Wood as a starter a few years ago, but with the arm problems
they have him in the closer role. However he still has control problems as
shown in today's 4-3 win.

Its actually about time the opposing team breaks down. I have never seen
that in a longtime. It seems like all other major league teams have much
better pitchers and hitters than the Brewers while it appears the Brewers
are just not made for major league level.

I guess other teams have some not so reliable players.

I was thankful as well for Wood to come in. I don't know why the Cubs keep
him as a closer when they have Marmol who has amazing stuff that nobody can
come close to hitting.

Because they're the sCrUBS. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I absolutely loved the ending to that game. It was satisfying, and just what
the Crew needed! Braun is starting to see/hit the ball much better, and if a
few more guys can follow suit, there's no reason they can't take a few more
series wins in the coming weeks, baserunning be damned. Anybody remember
last year, in late July, when the sCrUBS Aramis Ramirez beat the Crew with a
walkoff HR? The team then found their confidence, they built on that, and
never looked back. It helped build Chicago's identity, and raise their
confidence. Maybe yesterday's victory can have that same type of affect on
the Brewers.

Turnbow's going away, and going soon, the writing's on the wall. I have to
say I'm kind of bummed that things turned out this way for D-Bow, the Beer
Makers, and the fans. It's got to be very humbling to have the
rock-star/closer aura one year, and wear the heel aura the next. I wish him
well, unless he pitches against the Brewers. Maybe we can get a young,
promising A or AA ball arm for him.

I agree, when the years go by and years and years from now he's out of the
game..I'll have nothing but good memories of him. Fan favorite for sure but
his time has surely came and went.

Ryan Braun just hit a 2 run Homer as I am typing this with the begining of
the first half of inning to open the 1st game against the Houston Astros.

Brewers winning 2-0.
