I'm an asbnyy regular, just coming over here to congratulate Randy.
Can't believe I slept through it, hope I get to see the highlights.
That's really thin air up where he is. I wonder - does this plus the WS
title equal going into the HoF as a Dback?

I was watching ESPN News when they announced he was perfect through 8, so I
flipped on WTBS and caught the 9th.
Kudos and props to Braves' fans for cheering for The Big Unit vs. their
team.
Side note: On Sunday, Ben Sheets' of the Brewers struck out 18 Atlanta
Braves. His catcher? Chad Moeller...a former Diamondback. Hmm...I wonder
if someone from the DBacks' organization contacted Moeller to get some tips
on what was fooling Braves' batters on Sunday....

It's possible, but unlikely. Moeller lost favor with team management last
year and in the offseason, his agent told the D-Backs they'd better trade
him if they weren't going to play him.
That said, I'm sure he still has a couple of friends on the team, and they
might have asked him for some scouting info, but in all likelihood, the
D-Backs' advance scouts made note of what worked and what didn't.

Got to hope so.
If they trade him now, they'll never get what he's worth, but they'll
get more than they ever will.
The question re the HOF is, will they waive the 5-year rule?
Probably not, just for traditions' sake. But the man is so in.

Plus Moeller was en route to Puerto Rico Sunday evening. If Moeller and
Hammock were buddies, I'd say it was possible, or if Moeller and Johnson had
a solid relationship. More likely is that the DBacks got a tape of Sheets'
outing and made some determinations what was working and what wasn't.
Both the DBacks and Brewers are still, theoretically, in the hunt for the
wildcard, so helping the other team would not be wise.

Sheets got almost all his strikeouts on nasty curves in the dirt. Johnson
used a mixture of mostly Fastballs and sliders. It was too different styles,
so I really doubt there was any collaboration. Now the weak line-up the
Braves are trotting out right now might have something to do with it.
