Interesting! Numbers don't lie. But isn't there more to playing a
game of baseball than the above numbers? IF the above numbers were
ALL it took to run a major league baseball team, then every single
player and every single trade could simply be listed as above and the
Roman crowd at the Coliseum would then need only to raise their thumbs
up or down, depending on the above displayed numbers on the large
screen at the far end of the outdoor theatre.
Do you leave any room open for other statistics, tangible and
intangible? Or is this all anyone needs to fully size up the Pirates
3b situation? And why don't the all the papers and sports TV
outlets in the country simply display these numbers when sizing up
players?
It might be time for somebody to let them in on this.
And while we're at it, somebody oughta give Jim Tracy a call and tell
him about this, because he wanted Randa to play 3b over Sanchez. He
obviously doesn't know what he's doing?
