Of course, the Spanish celebrated a festival of Thanksgiving in St.
Augustine, Florida in 1565, decades before the folks in Massachusetts did.
Even the Virginia colony settlers in Jamestown are documented as having
celebrated a Thanksgiving meal, called by that name, in 1610.
