Renteria left Sunday's win over the Cubs after the third inning because of a
contusion on his left hand, the result of a Ted Lilly fastball that hit him
in the first inning. Lilly was ejected for the pitch, and Renteria quickly
retaliated, hitting Cubs second baseman Mike Fontenot in the face with his
right hand as he slid into second on a successful stolen base attempt.

Associated Press' George Henry reports X-rays taken on Atlanta Braves SS
Edgar Renteria (bruised left hand) came back negative.

I think Renteria's removal was mostly precautionary.

I grew up in Scotland, lived there until I was 14 before my family moved
over here. It was 13 years before I got back again, but I've been back about
every two years since.
