Archived from groups: rec>sport>baseball>college (more info?)

This three game series is the best thing to capture the essence of
College Baseball I have ever seen. We may be seeing history happen,
the next level has been reached! If anyone is watching, we are going
to get a lot of new fans. This series has all the drama, emotion,
great play after great play, followed by some mistake or error,
followed by more great plays. Which team will survive type drama, and
emotion. Neither team giving an inch, then when a mistake is made you
can read it like a book on the player's faces. Great coverage by ESPN.
Glad CBS is not at the throttles of this thing.
After all that, we still have a one game series! It is like some huge,
great, series at Alex Box for instance, only better than that, because
these two teams are REALLY leaving it all on the field, AND this one
is for ALL THE MARBLES.
We, as fans are lucky that the two best teams, (or at least the two
most evenly matched teams) with all due respect to Texas and Fullerton
and all the others, advanced this first time.
I hope they can, but I don't see any way these two teams can continue
at this high emotional level. After all, they have been at this for a
month. Will the first team to get behind Monday Night fall apart? We
will see, but I hope not.
What a great series to this point though. I cannot remember a MLB
World Series game that was better than either one of these two. This,
truly is a thing of beauty!
BTW: The people of Omaha were fantastic again this year.
Good luck to both teams and their fans in this medium for the finale.
I really do not have a dog in this fight. I met Coach Marquies in
1997, and again this year, he is a nice fellow, very fan friendly, and
wouldn't mind seeing him win with this team, but The Hooters have
played so hard, it is hard not to root for them, so I just hope it
comes down to one final great play, one more defensive gem, one
decisive three run home run, or a K with the bases loaded in the
ninth!

Geaux Tigers [Omaha bound in 2004 (again)]!!!
WDS from Baton Rouge
