Almost. After he gave up the 2 run dinger in the 9th, someone out there got
up and started to throw, but it was over quckly.
Good news on Saito's MRI.. no structural damage. And Baseball Tonight is
really pounding the Dotel trade. All indications are he's coming to the
Dodgers. Question is: for whom?

Who? ; ^) Anyway, Hu for a rent a player seems too expensive. Won't
they take Barnes or Matt Riley? Personnaly I'd hate to give Hu up for
Dotel, the kid has hit well and has a good OBP. Shows he's got good
plate disc. and strike zone judgement. I'm not saying I wouldn't trade
him but not for a rent a player and certanly not for a reliever/
closer. >> Stay informed about: Bullpen Nite Off? |

Oh, I'm not crazy about the idea either - another reason I want Meloan
brought up - he has enough stuff to maybe succeed out of the box at a
high level, ending the desire to trade for a reliever.
But regardless - I was thrilled that Billlingsley threw a complete
game - it helps the bullpen tremendously. Now if Hendrickson can only
have a good game tomorrow, maybe most of the bullpen will be decently
rested. Heck, maybe even Hernandez can be effective with several days
off. >> Stay informed about: Bullpen Nite Off? |

i love complete games. I hate brain dead managers who are slaves to pitch
counts. As far as Hendrickson goes, if they get 5 good innings from him I
will be surprised. Roberto Hernandez should be given the rest of his life
off. He is washed up and it was stupid to sign him. >> Stay informed about: Bullpen Nite Off? |

I don't dispute that Roberto Hernandez is washed up. But it should
be noted that the only game he's had rest for, was scoreless. It's
possible that he can be marginally effective if not used everyday.
That doesn't mean I wouldn't rather have other people already in the
organization up instead of him - it's just a statement that maybe the
Dodgers can get something serviceable out of him with the right usage
and a bit of luck.

They're obviously hoping to catch a little lightning in a bottle, and who
knows? I was one of those who imagined, going into spring training, that
Seanez was washed up, too.
