Anybody else guess that he'll be DFA'd ?
I'd send him packing, unless there's a clear cut medical problem,
that he's so far not admitted to.
The answer "What is a better option?"
is made irrelevant by Borowski's consistent failures.
This is not exactly a Pearl-Harbor type shocker....
Shapiro is a multi-millionaire genius.
He needs to make a move, and make a good move.
It's his job. To stand pat acknowledges that he appreciates
collecting a salary based upon last year's record, and only hopes
that this year heals itself. I think he'll make a move.
Sweet job again in LF, oh by the way.
What're the batting stats there now, ?? .158/5/0 ????
And below average defense and baserunning
(not that it matters when they're never on base..)
And, worse yet, Manny Ramirez is more comfortable in the
batter's box in Cleveland than I am in my hotel room when
I'm up there to watch some games. Would SOMEONE have the balls
to pitch this goof-ball inside, and I mean like opposing pitchers do to
Travis Hafner, et al. on the Tribe?
At least these April losses don't matter, as the Tribe is still trying to
get
a grip on how the team should really be built, just like every other year...
Remember, it's just April. >> Stay informed about: Is this it for Borowski? |

It will cost US a top prospect, probably a pitcher, but it has to done
NOW! We have probably the best starting rotation and the best set-up
pitcher, but absolutely the WORST closer in either league! Sharpiro
has NO Choice! >> Stay informed about: Is this it for Borowski? |

On thing I've noticed is that the Tribe have flat_out given away 3 of the 8
losses.
In other words, had they played solidly, they could be 8-5, not 5-8.
I'd also say that they should have lost one of their wins (4-3 vs. LAA).
Two of the three losses they gave up are directly related to Borowski.
The Tigers are "probably" not gonna stink all year.
I still think that they are a team that could win 18 out of 20 in a stretch.
A closer who is probably hurt, and a LF that doesn't hit, hit for power,
and play defense well are two items that long term will cost the team
close to 20-25 games. I think both need addressed. The starting pitching
will come around. So will the hitting. The problems I've noted above were
problems last year, and simply ignored. >> Stay informed about: Is this it for Borowski? |

They don't call him "Heart Attack" Joe Borowski for nothing.
