TORONTO (AP)-Blue Jays designated hitter Frank Thomas was livid Saturday
after getting benched in favor of Matt Stairs and being told by manager John
Gibbons he can expect further cuts to his playing time.

Thomas was hitless in his past 13 at-bats and has gone 4-for-35 since
homering in three straight games April 5-8.

I'm not a big Thome fan, too may ko's, but I can't even imagine him whinning
like Thomas over playing time.

I don't think Thome would be described as "livid" if he was in that
situation, but I don't think we'll get the chance to find out if he stay
healthy.

(Though I'm in favor of letting Ramirez into the oufield, Swisher to 1B, and
using Paulie as the DH against the occasional lefty).

I agree letting Thome set more against lefties plus he's available to pinch
hit and if not Ramirez, then Anderson and/or Owens if we find a place for
him on the roster.
