If they had Ellsbury for this game, they might have won it already. >> Stay informed about: This Bench Is a Mystery to Me |

DH choices better than Bailey: Moss, Ellsbury, Beckett, Pena, Mirabelli.

Well, we wouldn't have to put Pena in the game "for defensive purposes." >> Stay informed about: This Bench Is a Mystery to Me |

Moss and Ellsbury not on team. Besides, they aren't going to play
Ortiz on first, so it is moot anyway. >> Stay informed about: This Bench Is a Mystery to Me |

if ortiz goes into the field you lose the DH and the pitcher has to bat. >> Stay informed about: This Bench Is a Mystery to Me |

The productive Ellsbury was sent down to bring up the useless Bailey.

They needed a first basemen with Youk not able to play in the field
and two lefties going for Detroit in the series.

And that is worse than Bailey how?

I am sure that Hinske could play an entire game at first, and that someone
else could fill in if needed.

PH.

Well, obviously, they wanted a right handed bat at first against the
two lefties. That doesn't mean it's guaranteed that Bailey will be
successful.

Another of today's mysteries. You PH an injured Youk for a Drew that has
been hitting OK, forcing the introduction of a Doofus into RF. Of course
if another questionable roster move hadn't been made your new RF could be
a far better defensive player.

Or how about RF.
Another good move: Bring in Papelbon in the 13th
with the game tied. Sweet.
