That's when I new they would lose. Every time I think "They can't lose
this one." They do.

IIRC, the bullpen blew 3 saves in that game. That's unacceptable and
where the blame should lie, not in pitching moves/non-moves that Dusty
made in the middle of the game. We keep pointing fingers at Dusty and
various position players. But the truth is that, while they are
certainly problems, the main problem with this organization remains
pitching. A familiar 14th in league era despite the MLB ERA leader on
the staff.

So did the Sunday innings affect Harang's performance? No way to really
tell I guess.

I will never understand Dusty's thought process in that extra inning game.
Cueto was the furthest removed from his last start, why wasn't he warmed up
and brought on, to go as far as he could go?

Instead you tamper with your co-aces and leave yourself wide open to
questions.

If he had used Cueto, we could have complained that he was messing with
the entire rotation and risking the youngest arm who had shown the least
success.

The root of the problem was lifting Josh Fogg so quickly. It just left
him with his pants down. Once he made that error, things just couldn't
recover.

I agree. But, if you felt compelled to do it, why not the guy with the most
rest?

I don't blame Dusty for winning or losing with this pathetic roster. I
blame him for mishandling the staff in extra innings and risking his two
aces in the process.

Dis-agreeing with you because from my standpont - this has been the best
pitching crew I've seen on the Reds in a long time. The coaching and
managing so far are definitely below par. If your putting the best pitching
staff on your team to contend in this league - what is Weathers and Fogg
doing on this team ? If dead beat players were sent down - performance from
the rest of the Reds would improve. Same goes for the fielding.
Common sense at this point in the season would be moving Griffey down to 7th
in the order or flat sitting him on the bench. In the 3 rd spot of the
line-up he is the worst in MLB. Why was Patterson even allowed to start this
year ? Why wasn't Bruce started from opening day ? How do you have a manager
that can't come up with a common sense line-up and make sure they bat in the
right order ?

bottom line is this organization doesn't give a sh*t about winning - they
just want a decent fan turn-out - ie. that why Bruce was brought up when he
was. Turnout at the stadium after the Cleveland series was super weak.

Most fans today don't give a flying rats ass about Griffey hitting 600 HRs -
what does matter is to advance the freakin runner around the bases instead
of poping up or striking out. His performance is really starting to stink.

You know...you should take up watching women's softball. You would really
love the sport. They play exactly the way you think major league baseball
players should play.

If I watched Womens softball (Arizona isn't too bad on the eyes !) I'd just
end up seeing Josh Fogg on the mound - he probable pitches better underhand

I'm dead serious John. Moving the runner over is everything in that game.
You see the old Baltimore chop as players do anything they can to get on
base. It's exactly the kind of ball you seem to want to see. The kids care
about it too. Lots of rah-rah type stuff.
