tough situation with Bagwell-either
1.trade him to an American league club where he can DH and pay him the
18 million
or
2. have him retire and pay him and get reimbursed by insurance
3. I don't think he can throw the ball and therefore cannot play at a
major
league level..
he was da man...
Michael (now in Dallas)
so, your first option is to pay him in full and trade him? why not pay
him and use him to pinch hit for the Stros?
I think it is beneficial to note he gets paid the full $17 million this
year regardless of what happens. As Pupura said in todays Chronicle it
is just the start of the process not the end. If he gets into spring
training and its decided he can help the team then of course the team
will pick up the full salary...if not, then 15.6 is paid by insurance
and the team will just owe the balance. I really think in the long run
Bagwell will do whats right for himself AND the team but they do have a
sizeable investment at stake and from a business standpoint need to take
steps to protect that investment.
