The program on the net "appears" to put you in the lowest section
number for the price range you select. Unfortunately that doesn't
work with the way the sections are numbered.
As an example, the $14.50 seats in the upper deck extend from
section 310 at first base around to section 322 at third base.
If you simply ask for some $14.50 seats, it will almost always
put you in section 310 - usually in a higher row than any of the
other sections if you check them individually.
What I usually do is find seats online and then buy them at
the stadium in advance. For example, if I was going to tonight's
game, I'd pick out the next game we're going to, check the available
seats on the net and buy the tickets tonight when we're down there.
Requires a little advance planning but I can go to the window with
a good idea of what's going to be available. Don't have to pay the
obscene "service charges" that way either.
