On one hand I am overjoyed that my team will once again be restored to me in
some form (The Senators).

On the other hand, I truly feel very sorry for the fans of the Expos. I
remember the profound degree of loss and sadness when the Senators left
town. It was certainly not the sadest day of my life, for those days all
relate to the deaths of relatives, but outside of those personal family
events and major tragedies such as 9/11, that day ranks up there. I would
guess that it is probably the sadest "unimportant" event in my life. And I
know that, today, there are many in Montreal who are experiencing the same
sense of loss. Hopefully you will not have to wait nearly as long to feel
great joy for the restoration.

I went to two Senator's games before they left the area, but was too
young to remember much about them. Around 1973 I played for the Central
Springfield Little League Expos and became a lifelong Expos fan. I
usually got to see 4-6 Expos games a year (in Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and
Philadelphia) and one or two in Montreal a season. I was sad to see
them leave Montreal and will miss seeing games there. I am amazed that
my favorite team is moving to my area and will be getting season tickets
as long as they are reasonably priced.
