It could also be a bust. Coco is entering his prime (just turned 26), and
has shown some growing power potential. He hit 42 doubles last year, and
that's a good indicator of better power numbers to come. It wouldn't
surprise me if he hits over 50 doubles in Fenway.
My predictions for Coco in Boston:
..315/.370/.510 with 195 hits, 51 doubles, 22 HR's, 80 RBI's, 100 Runs, and
a solid fielder. People will think Cleveland got fleeced. He'll be a good
player for the next 3-4 years. I would have been happy had Cleveland signed
him to a 3-4 year deal. But he probably knows his worth, and wouldn't have
settled for anything less than big money. He'll be a free agent soon, and
could get a really big contract from either Boston or possibly NY if he hits
well in Fenway this year.
But, I think getting Marte makes it a good deal for the Tribe. He is a blue
chipper, and a 3B. Boone is decent, but is clearly not the long-term
solution at third.
