It would be amazing, if it weren't categorically and idiotically
false.

could you refresh my memory of a time when Smoltz was 3-0 and had an ERA
of no more than 0.89. Or you could tone down the categorically and
idiotically.

I'm not going to troll through the archives scanning for three game
sets where Smoltz has outperformed his opening three this year. It's
categorically and idiotically false to say he's pitching the best of
his career, and the idea that Maddux is somehow topping 1995 is
preposterous.

Please. It's only three games. And Smoltz is now 5 IPs pitcher. And
among those three wins two were over Washington and Florida.
You want a season better in W/L? 1998 17-3.
You want one with better peripherials? Now he has 3.5 K/BB. In 1998 it
was 173/44 (almost 4). In 1996 amazing 275/55 (5 to 1) with WHIP 1.00.

No points for refreshing his memory. That aside though, things happen to
you within 30 seconds of turning 40. Bad things.

So did I. The thing I never understood though was that I passed that

All this is irrelevant. I didn't claim that Smoltz is pitching the best
of his career, merely that it wasn't categorically and idiotically false
to claim so.

We know what you meant.
But it is categorically and idiotically false to claim so.
