This is a tremendous tribute to the St Louis fans to make a difference in
the results of the voting.

I disagree, I think this was baseball fans in general. Pujols, over the
last week, got 333,000 more votes than Scott Rolen.

I agree, but I think Rolen is perhaps the wrong example. Rolen is
probably the best known 3B in the NL, I imagine he got a lot of votes
from casual fans who don't follow baseball that closely and hadn't
heard of Lowell.

If you look at how all the Cardinals did (pretty well, actually)

3. Mike Matheny, St. Louis 772,851
3. Tino Martinez, St. Louis 816,166
1. Edgar Renteria, St. Louis 1,669,026
4. Fernando Vina, St. Louis 575,775
1. Scott Rolen, St. Louis 1,979,936
1. Albert Pujols, St. Louis 2,030,702
5. Jim Edmonds, St. Louis 1,211,384
10. J.D. Drew, St. Louis 566,594

I would pick Mike Matheny as the guy who would only get votes from
Cardinal fans (Vina probably lost a lot of votes to Bo Hart...)

I think you missed my point. If it was just Cardinals' fans who pushed
Pujols to first in the OF, I highly doubt he makes up the 333,000 votes
to pass Rolen.
